De récentes études indiquent que les tissus imprimés redeviennent populaires après une période plus tranquille dans les décennies minimalistes de 1980 à 2000. Les nouvelles technologies d'impression numérique aussi alimentent ce regain d'énergie, et offrent particulièrement à la couturière ou couturier amateur la possibilité de concevoir ses propres images. Ce regain d'intérêt pour des tissus imprimés semble, alors, destiner à rester.
