Muslin can also be called calico
Muslin is called calico in England. Muslin is considered here to be the airy loose weave cotton which once was wrapped around hams or large flitches of bacon.
I understand that in North America calico is what would be called muslin in England.
I wonder when the names became reversed?

SWAP: Your translation skills for fabric buying reference guide
Hi!
Last fall a friend and I started a small business selling pocket-sized plastic reference cards with garment sketches and tables of numbers designed to help you figure out how much fabric to buy, whenever you find some beautiful fabric but don’t have the right pattern with you.
You can see pictures of the cards and read more about them on our website: www.gwynhug.com.
We’d like to improve the website by having information about the cards available in other languages.
So, I’ve written a 1.5 page document (in English) summarizing how the cards were created and how to use them.
We’re looking for people who would be willing to translate that document into other languages.
In exchange for your time, we’ll send you a set of the cards. (Note that the cards come in a metric version and we’ll pay for the international postage too.)
Sabrina Rehberg, a member of the BurdaStyle community, has already provided a German translation, and you can see that on our website by clicking on the German flag. Sabrina estimates that it took her less than 1.5 hours to do the translation.
We are interested in 2 translators per language and any language you know! :)
If you are interested in participating, please email me directly, gwynhug@gmail.com.
Thank you very much!
